Hello, I'm Alasdair Douglas, a trusted advisor with with over 11 years of experience. I have led more than 85 data and machine learning projects for 36+ Australian private and government organisations. 

With a formal education in mechatronic engineering and commerce, I transitioned from industrial automation to data science as the field was emerging. A mixture of good timing, a well-suited skill set and confidence in innovation resulted in me having the fortune to lead many groundbreaking projects in machine learning and data.

The projects I’ve worked on have made significant financial and societal impacts. The financially targeted projects have had a cumulative impact in the AUD$100s of millions chiefly in retail, logistics, banking, and telecommunications. Additionally, the social outcome-focused projects have positively influenced health, policing, and other government sectors.

Another significant part of my career has been in sharing knowledge and helping others find their path through mentoring, teaching and speaking.

Today, I advise executives on data and AI strategy, lead the AI consulting practice at Vivanti, and develop high-performing teams to tackle major business problems. I also support select companies and startups with product, technical and strategic advice.
